Stepped Style Staircase

The Stepped Style Staircase is very similar to the Traditional Style Staircase. In fact the only difference between these timber stairs is the stringer shape. Not to be confused with our New Age timber staircase (which is positioned higher than the tread) the Stepped Style Staircase has a zigzagged shaped stringer top, whilst retaining its flat bottom.

The shape of the stringer beautifully accommodates the staircases natural rise whilst the harmoniously curved nature of the stringer gives the stair a lovely swooping feel. Like the traditional the staircase can have any number of different hand rail shapes, spindle material or even have glass. It should be noted that there are a few regulation issues with glass clamped between posts on this model - let us know if you need information on this. The staircase can also come in a number of different timbers.

One of the most remarkable variations of The Stepped Style Staircase is when it is used with glass clamped to the side. In fact combining this with white stringers and making the steps closed (closed riser flush with tread edge) gives you quite the feature. Equally like our other staircases within the range the stringer and handrail can curve around the corners rather than having posts - this look's extremmely good!!

A standard model with 12 risers in beech parquet costs around £ 3,500.00 + VAT. Please let us know if you need a price put together.

The Traditional style timber staircase is a model which bases itself on a conventional design intermixed with modern materials. The structure lies within two timber stringers which do not have to be against a wall, giving the staircase the possibility of being a completely free standing stair. Couple this with open risers and/or glass balustrade and you have a really airy feel to the staircase.

You don't have to use glass balustrade or open risers on this timber system however; you could have stainless or powder coated steel spindles running from handrail to stringer. Perhaps even a standard timber spindle - better still; this could be ornately finished. The stringers could be made out of a cheaper timber and then painted a number of different colours and the handrail can come in numerous different sizes and shapes. This is the beauty of a bespoke timber stair.

Like the WF staircase the stair can curve around the corners with both stringer and handrail hand crafted 90 or 180 degrees. The stringers are also always harmoniously curved giving the all stair a wonderful shape.

The  Traditional style staircase comes in numerous different timber finishes: Beech, Oak, Maple, Ash, Mahogany, Walnut etc... and is priced from £ 3,000.00 + VAT depending on what you require.
