The WF style staircase is a very popular timber stair that we sell. The staircase has only one stringer which resides on the wall and the other side is completely open, giving it a lovely floating / cantilevered feel. Whilst the stair cannot have glass you can choose between stainless steel, powder coated steel or timber vertical spindles which run up to 160 x 42mm timber handrail which acts as a support.

The staircase can be configured in a number of different shapes but looks truly remarkable when turning 90 or 180 degrees as the handrail can curve continuously without any posts. All stairs are made to order and we do full drawings before manufacture.

One of the most common questions we get about the WF staircase(after of course how is it supported!!), and most open stairs we do, is about the 100mm gap rule. Under UK staircase regulations no gap can be bigger than 100mm as it acts as a hazard to children. Therefore we offer a number of different solutions from glass / acrylic pieces to stainless steel bars. However the most popular options are these:

'L' shaped risers

Mini riser pieces behind the front of the tread

The WF staircase comes in a range of different timbers, the most popular being Beech or Oak, however we have been known to sell Mahogany, Walnut, Ash, Maple and many more. The sky's the limit some would say!! Another option which proves popular with our customers is to have the wall stringer in a white painted Pine/MDF, this generally disguises the stringer (if you have a white wall of course) and really accentuates the cantilevered  / floating feel to this stair.

The WF Staircase is priced from £ 3,500.00 + VAT for a Beech Parquet straight, 12 risers and a Pine/MDF stringer. Please take a look at this link for more information and give us a call if you would like a quote: 01794 522 444
